I am looking for any information on Thomas and Nancy Hendrix. They lived in Pickens Co before and during the Civil War. Thomas (abt 1800-1877) Nancy (abt 1801-1887) Daughter was Cassie Hendrix. Cassie had three children: Alison Stanley, Ronald Ramsus and Margret Drew Sila.
Found an obit for Mrs. Thomas Hendrix in the Cherokee Co Library. Stated that she was to be buried in “The Old Town Cemetery” next to her husband who had passed away about 10 years prior.

Do you know where the Old Town Cemetery is?

Regrettably, I do no know of a cemetery called Old Town Cemetery. In 2009, Ted Brooke and I published our Pickens County cemetery surveys, and we did not find a Nancy and Thomas Hendrix. No Old Town Cemetery in Pickens County and I don’t believe there is one in Cherokee County. Sorry that I can’t help you!

Robert and Mary Bramlett Ray were my 3rd great grandparents. I appreciate the information you have provided on this cemetery where many of their descendants are buried. I hope to visit it someday.
