It is difficult to imagine the emotions of my grandmother, Sara (Waddell) Woodward, as she ventured from the home of her family in Maitland, Hants County, Nova Scotia, to travel to Boston in search of employment. There were eleven siblings including six sisters. Grace, Maude, and Bessie, also traveled to Boston to work, but at this point I don’t know if the four girls traveled together or sought different passage.
I’m looking forward to my next trip to Salt Lake City when I’ll be able to spend some time working on my family puzzles. Grandmother Woodward, you’ll be on the top of my list.
