FGS 2011, Springfield: Digital Scrapbooking

Before you know it, it will be time to attend the Federation of Genealogical Societies 2011 Conference, Pathways to the Heartland, in Springfield, Illinois (September 7-10).

I’m excited about the opportunity I will have to present a one-hour presentation called “Digital Scrapbooking.” During the presentations I will be providing techniques for organizing your family history using scanners, digital images, digital audio files, digital video clips, word processing, and genealogy database files, will be discussed. There is a lot to talk about in just sixty short minutes, but my goal is to motive those in attendance and have them going home anxious to get their documents and photographs ready for digital scrapbooking. This session (S-407) will be presented on Saturday (September 10th) morning from 8:00-9:00 am.

Hope to see you there!

Wallet

This past week I had an opportunity to take a class on constructing a cloth wallet (from a quilter’s stash) with Jeanne  at Sew Memorable.  We used a pattern created by Karen Comstock of Quiltricks in Cary, N.C.

The first three image show the work in progress while the last images show different views of my finished product.

Crafty Lady

When I began blogging in earnest last November, I created two blogs, one for Woodward Family Research (including variant spellings) throughout the United States, and the other “Anamnesis: Musings by Linda” designed to be used for a variety of topics. I’ve learned that “Anamnesis” is too diverse! Consequently, the blog has been split into three addition segments: 1) My Family Research; 2) North Georgia Research (families and Cherokee of North Georgia), and 3) Crafty Lady (scrapbooking, quilting and other crafts). “Anamnesis” will be reserved for my love of nature, and other items that interest me…it will still be a catchall.

In my spare time I love to quilt, scrapbook, do decorative painting, make soap, and other crafty things. This blog will be devoted to discussion of craft projects.
